This Privacy Policy explains how the Modern Calculator Android application ("App") handles information. The App complies with GDPR (EU) 2016/679, UK GDPR, Swiss FADP, and US privacy laws including CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, CPA, CTDPA, and other applicable state laws.

2. Data Collected (via Third Parties)

Modern Calculator itself does not collect personal data. The following data may be collected by Google services integrated for ads and billing:

3. What We Do NOT Collect

We never collect:

• Name, email, contacts, messages, files;
• Calculation history, tool history, expressions and results — stored only locally via SharedPreferences;
• Precise GPS location;
• Camera, microphone, biometrics;
• Any data that directly identifies you (no user accounts).

The App includes 100+ calculator and everyday tools, including algebra, 2D and 3D geometry, graphs, converters, finance, health, date and time tools. Their inputs, results, favorites and local preferences remain on your device.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)

• Consent (Art. 6.1.a): Personalized ads via UMP consent form in EEA/UK/Switzerland and US states requiring opt-in. Withdraw anytime via Privacy Options.
• Contract (Art. 6.1.b): Processing purchase token to deliver Remove Ads premium.
• Legitimate Interest (Art. 6.1.f): Non-personalized ads, fraud prevention, ad performance measurement.
• Legal Obligation (Art. 6.1.c): Storing consent proof for accountability.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Ad types used:

• Adaptive Anchored Banner — bottom of screen, auto-refreshes per AdMob default interval;
• App Open Ad — shown when returning from background (minimum 3 foreground returns or 3-hour cooldown), never on cold start;
• Interstitial — every 6 tab switches or every 25 calculations, with 3-hour cooldown between displays;
• Native Ads — in Support screen and in calculation history (every 10 entries, max 2 per list).

6. Consent Management (UMP)

We use Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK certified for TCF 2.2.

• EEA/UK/CH: Consent form shown before any ad initialization. MobileAds.initialize() is NOT called before consent;
• US States: US Privacy message with "Do Not Sell or Share" and opt-out;
• Change anytime: Support → Privacy Settings → re-opens UMP Privacy Options Form.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR (EU/EEA/UK)

• Access: History in-app; ad data via Google My Ad Center;
• Erasure: Clear History button; reset advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads;
• Withdraw Consent: Support → Privacy Settings;
• Object: Opt out of personalized ads in Android Settings → Google → Ads;
• Complaint: With your local DPA.

8. US Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

• No Sale by us: We do not sell personal information. AdMob may process GAID as "sale/share" under CCPA — opt-out via UMP;
• Right to Know: Categories listed in Section 2;
• Right to Delete: Uninstall app and reset advertising ID;
• Opt-Out: "Do Not Sell or Share" toggle in UMP consent dialog;
• Non-Discrimination: Free version shows non-personalized ads instead.

9. In-App Purchases — Remove Ads

One-time purchase managed via RevenueCat and Google Play Billing. We receive only a purchase token (no card details). Purchase can be restored via Restore button on same Google account.

Additional plans: the App may also offer Supporter and Premium monthly or lifetime plans. Google Play and RevenueCat may process the related purchase and entitlement information. Premium features do not remove ads unless the specific purchase description explicitly includes ad removal.

10. App Permissions

No camera, microphone, location, contacts, or storage permissions requested.

11. Data Retention

• Calculation History: Local only, until Clear History or uninstall. The free plan keeps up to 100 entries; Premium can unlock up to 500 entries;
• Consent String: Stored via UMP until reset or uninstall;
• AdMob logs: Retained by Google — typically 9–18 months, then anonymized;
• App Open cooldown: Local timestamp, deleted on uninstall.

12. Data Security

• No personal data transmitted to our servers (we operate none);
• All local data stored via Android SharedPreferences (sandboxed per app);
• AdMob communication encrypted via TLS;
• Billing via Google Play encrypted checkout.

13. International Transfers

If you are in EU/EEA, your advertising ID processed by Google may be transferred to US servers under Google's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). We do not transfer calculation data — it stays on device.

14. Children's Privacy

App is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR). For children, we recommend purchasing Remove Ads to disable all third-party SDKs, making the app fully offline.

15. Policy Changes

• "Last updated" date will be updated;
• New version posted at same URL;
• Material changes notified via Play Store release notes.

Note: This policy reflects the current App version. Premium users (Remove Ads active) are not subject to AdMob data collection — the SDK is not initialized at all for premium users.
